Connections Australia?

Boer War era “Australian Bushmen” game, c.1901

After the success of the long-running Connections professional wargaming conference in the US, and with Connections UK now entering its second year, Todd Mason has sent around an announcement asking if there would be sufficient interest to convene a Connections Australia conference or workshop late this year:

Due to the success of the Connections conference last year in the UK and the many successful years of the US original, we have decided to investigate whether something similar would work down here in Australia.

At this point we are seeking expressions of interest from potential attendees, particularly anyone with something to present.

The format we are looking at is of a number of sessions per day, over two days. Each session of 60-90 minutes, with 2-4 presenters each having 10-15 minutes to talk about their use of war games, their problems, research or other matter of interest and the remainder of the session spent in open discussion and questions.

We would like to have a broad range of participants from the military, emergency management, law enforcement, business and academia.

The conference/ workshop will be held in Melbourne in November or December 2014.

Anyone interested in attending is asked to contact Todd Mason or Mariana Zafeirakopoulos with ideas or a proposal. More information will also be found here in due course.
